http://www.ajax-usa.com/youth/de-toekomst-the-future.htmlSobre este tema aconselho a leitura deste site! Está em ingles, mas percebe-se bem!
Destaco as seguintes passagens:
-The facilities at De Toekomst includes seven grass pitches, one artificial grass pitch and a small but beautiful stadium. It's in that stadium where the Ajax youth and "reserves" (Ajax 2) teams play their home games
- a young player training at De Toekomst will get more than just football instructions. Ajax offers academic assistance to ensure that the intense football regimen is complemented by success in the classroom. The club even offers assistance to the parents of the young would-be professionals, counseling them on the delicate task of raising a football prodigy.
- Athletes who perform poorly or misbehave in school are suspended from training and matches. If there is no improvement, the athlete is then asked to leave the club.
- football is a business, and the youth academies are not charity; if a player is not good enough to make it in the next round, he will be dismissed to make room for someone else.
- Each player carries a rule book and knows exactly what is expected of him. The young footballers are forbidden from carrying cellphones, or from wearing earrings or baseball caps.
- Repeated violations of even the most superficial rules of conduct will lead to dismissal.
- Ajax recruits the great majority of their youth talent by employing over thirty professional talent scouts in Holland
- Fully 95% of the youth players under contract with Ajax carry Dutch passports.
- The rare few who do come from overseas are required to immerse themselves in Dutch life immediately. They must learn to speak and read Dutch. They're often housed with a Dutch family to facilitate the process
- The young athletes do not live in "Ajax dormitories." They live otherwise normal lives with their families, attending normal schools while getting bussed to and from De Toekomst on a daily basis. And while the club does pick up all the expenses associated with the training, the youth players do not get paid
Depois disto tudo, aconselho a leitura de uma entrevista a um dos responsáveis pela formação no Ajax!
Temos tanto, tanto a aprender...
